SIM ownership check — how many SIMs are on your CNIC
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority runs the only legitimate service that shows how many mobile numbers are registered against a CNIC.
Check it on the official portal
These are the only sources that hold the record.

What the process actually involves
Every mobile connection in Pakistan is biometrically tied to a CNIC. Under PTA rules a single CNIC may hold a limited number of SIMs across all operators combined, and people regularly find connections issued in their name that they never asked for — usually after handing a CNIC copy to a retailer.
PTA's SIM Information System is the official way to see that list. You enter your own CNIC number on the portal, or send your CNIC number (13 digits, no dashes) to 668 by SMS, and you receive the count of connections per operator. It deliberately works the other way round from what people search for: it tells you which numbers belong to a CNIC, not which CNIC belongs to a number.
There is no legal service that returns the owner's name for someone else's mobile number. Sites and apps promising 'SIM owner details with name and address' are trading in leaked databases; PTA has repeatedly blocked them and using them exposes you to prosecution under PECA. If you are being harassed from a number, the correct route is a complaint to PTA or the FIA Cybercrime wing, who can obtain the ownership record lawfully.
If the portal shows a connection you did not authorise, contact that operator's franchise with your CNIC and ask for it to be blocked; the operator must verify biometrically before the number stays in your name.
Documents you need
- · Your own CNIC number
- · A mobile phone if you use the SMS route to 668
Fees and charges
Fee schedules are revised by the issuing authority — confirm the current figure on their portal before paying.
| Item | What applies |
|---|---|
| PTA SIM Information System (web) | Free |
| SMS your CNIC to 668 | Charged at the operator's standard SMS rate |
| Network check — SMS "N 03xxxxxxxxx" to 76367 | Rs 2 + tax |
Step by step
- 1. Open PTA's SIM Information System and enter your own 13-digit CNIC number without dashes.
- 2. Submit the form and read the per-operator count of connections registered to you.
- 3. Note any connection you do not recognise, together with the operator.
- 4. Visit that operator's franchise with your original CNIC and request blocking of the unknown number.
- 5. For harassment or fraud from a number you do not own, file a complaint with PTA or the FIA Cybercrime wing instead of trying to trace the owner yourself.
Questions
Kis naam par SIM hai — kaise pata karein?
Kisi doosre number ka maalik maloom karne ka koi qanooni tareeqa aam shehri ke liye nahin hai. Aap sirf apne CNIC par registered SIMs dekh sakte hain: PTA ke SIM Information System par apna CNIC daalein, ya CNIC number 668 par SMS karein.
How many SIMs can one CNIC have?
PTA caps the total number of connections held against a single CNIC across all operators. The exact cap is set by PTA policy and has been revised over time, so the count shown on the SIM Information System is the authoritative figure for your own CNIC.
Mere naam par ghair-mutalliqa SIM nikli, ab kya karein?
Us operator ki franchise par apna asli CNIC le kar jayein aur number block karwane ki darkhwast dein. Operator biometric verification ke baghair connection aap ke naam nahin rakh sakta.
