How is the gold value calculated?
Weight is converted to grams, multiplied by karat ÷ 24 for purity, then multiplied by the 24K rate per gram. Making charges and wastage are added afterwards if you enter them.
Can I use my jeweller's rate instead?
Yes. Choose the custom rate basis and enter the 24K per-gram rate your dealer quotes, and every purity is recalculated from it.
Is the result what a jeweller will pay me?
No. Dealers buy below the market rate and often deduct for purity testing and wastage. Treat this as a metal-value estimate.
